It’s hard to make a public bench cool, beautiful and historic…but it can be done as Philly based architecture firm KieranTimberlake did with some of Techtona’s reclaimed old growth teak salvaged from a 1908 Rangoon granary. The beautifully shaped early 20th century teak is set in reinforced concrete giving the seat an modern finish.
A friend in Aspen, Colorado needed a bathtub for his one of kind home. We began with a softwood mock-up. Techtona then got to work with 6”x 6” x 6’ teak beams from an old timber mill near Rangoon and created what we believe is a reclaimed teak tub unique on planet earth today.
The UCONN Basketball Champion Center at the Univ of Connecticut needed new floors that would stand the test of time while adding sophistication & a sustainability narrative to their new flagship building. Techtona supplied old growth reclaimed T&G teak floors.
Emerald Pavilion, completed in spring 2019, is a one of kind home in the Turks and Caicos overlooking the boundless expanse of the Caribbean. The designer needed highly unusual 17’-18’ contiguous reclaimed Burmese teak paneling and flooring for certain sections of the home.
