The late 19th and early 20th century was a period of massive construction in greater south east Asia. Old growth teak was in great abundance at that time. Buildings were actually framed with solid teak beams and joists. Many of these buildings have been dismantled today to make room for sleek modern structures. We have salvaged what we can of this material . Rather than cut these stunning beams into more marketable lumber, we are saving them for that designer who sees the unique possibilities of building with old growth teak from the 19th century in dimensional sizes that simply do not exist anymore.
