I’m a furniture designer and work for an architecture firm. I’ve sourced reclaimed teak from Techtona for projects at work and for my own studio practice. I used their teak for a large exterior site bench and was struck by the quality of the wood; it’s very hard but machines beautifully, holds a tight edge and has a wonderfully deep coloration of variegated honey brown tones. I recently sourced more of their lumber to use for a set of bespoke vanities I’m fabricating and as usual was very pleased with the quality of customer service I experienced from them. I’ve work with many species of domestic and exotic hardwoods in the past but their teak is simply superior for the characteristics it offers for fabrication and finishing.
