All of the characteristics that make teak the most desirable hardwood in the world: stability, beauty, durability, patina, texture and workability, become more pronounced with age. Vintage, reclaimed teak was originally hewn from old growth teak trees that were between eighty and one hundred years old when they were harvested in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The teak was then shaped by Burmese artisans and carpenters into building frames, furniture and boats.
