Teak’s durability when exposed to cold, heat, rain, snow and prolonged sun is simply unmatched. These properties are only found in old growth teak. The reason the British took Burma as a colonial asset in the early 19th century was in part to get teak for its war ships. Only teak could endure the salt water and constant vacillation between sun and cold. This colonial era old growth reclaimed teak is now available for decking application.
