There is no finer, more beautiful hardwood than Old-Growth teak
direct sourcing
We re-claim teak, ironwood and other hardwoods from demolished factories, mills, boats, trucks, and furniture throughout SE Asia.
local milling
In order to create jobs and take advantage of the excellent local craftsmanship, everything is milled in SE Asia. Our carpenters come from centuries old lineages of working with hardwoods—particularly teak. They make the products you see here better than anyone else in the world.
best prices
There is no middlemen between us and you. We will match or beat any prices you send us for SE Asian reclaimed hardwoods that are certifiably sustainably sourced. We take the hassle and paperwork out of sourcing, exporting and shipping fine reclaimed hardwoods into the USA and Canada.
truly re-claimed
We are selling vintage old-growth timbers cut between 60 and 150 years ago. This timber was used in houses, factories, boats, truck beds, furniture etc. Today old growth teak exists in the wild in only a few places too remote for loggers to reach. We hope they never do. When you buy re-claimed teak from SE Asia you are buying a bit of natural and cultural history. Buying from Techtona helps to preserve what is left of the sacred old-growth forests.
sustainable
We do not seek wood from structures that are or could one day be historical landmarks. Our paper and photographic trail attached to all our reclaimed wood attests to this. We only sell re-claimed wood that we source—we know where every piece comes from because we know what is at stake.
Why is old-growth teak superior to plantation teak?
Old growth teak has qualities of durability, beauty and utility that are unmatched by teak grown commercially on plantations. This has everything to do with age.
