There is no finer hardwood than Burmese teak
We sustainably reclaim Burmese teak, Ironwood and other exotic hardwoods from demolished factories, mills, boats, trucks, and furniture throughout Burma. We take care of all of the import/export paperwork, and ship it directly to you on location. We like to call it hassle free sourcing of sustainably procured, reclaimed lumber.
local milling and finishing
In order to create jobs and take advantage of the excellent local craftsmanship in Burma, everything is milled in Rangoon. Burmese carpenters come from centuries old lineages of working with hardwoods-particularly teak. They make the products you see here better than anyone else in the world. Our quality is second to none. The natural tone, grain, patina and colour of old growth teak is unlike anything you could get from anywhere else. Final custom milling is done in our precision mill in New Jersey to expedite delivery to our clients in the USA and Canada.
There is no middlemen between us and you. We will match or beat any prices you send us for SE Asian reclaimed hardwoods that are certifiably sustainably sourced. you just can’t get a better deal on sustainably harvested, reclaimed Burmese Teak, Ironwood and old growth exotic hardwoods.
old growth lumber,
We are selling vintage old-growth timbers cut between 60 and 150 years ago. This timber was used in houses, factories, boats, truck beds, furniture etc. Today old growth teak exists in the wild in only a few places too remote for loggers to reach. We hope they never do. When you buy reclaimed teak from Burma or SE Asia you are buying a bit of natural and cultural history embedded in the wood which does not contribute to further loss of these forests.
We do not seek wood from structures that are or could one day be historical landmarks. Our paper and photographic trail attached to all our reclaimed wood attests to this. We only sell reclaimed wood that we source-we know where it comes from and we know what is at stake. The forests matter.
Why is old growth Burmese teak superior to plantation teak?
Burmese old growth teak has qualities of durability, beauty and utility that are unmatched by teak grown commercially on plantations. This has everything to do with age.
