2” thick x 48” wide x 18’ long
Reclaimed teak plank tables, circa 1908
These tables are the largest we make. They are statement pieces. Their inspiration comes from the era of great rooms in magisterial homes around the world. The reclaimed teak we’ve used to make these tables is late 19th / early 20th century. Each reclaimed teak plank is 2”thick by 8” wide by 18’ long. There is no place else we know of where you can find contiguous 18’ long planks of old growth reclaimed teak from this era crafted into a single table. Cut around the time Teddy Roosevelt became president in 1901, the wood had already matured in the wild for what was likely the better part of 80 years before harvesting. The lumber has seasoned in-situ over the last century in an a massive old granary in Rangoon. This is heirloom teak-the likes of which does not grow anymore not because it can’t, but because humanity does not have the patience to let it. We’ve put a light matt-clear coating on some and left others natural. All of the original character is present. The legs are trapezoid, hand welded steel, painted sleek black.
